I WHO HAVE ARRIVED IN HEAVEN

Friday, December 6, 2013
Yet another reason I would love to live in New York: this amazing art installation at the David Zwirner Gallery by Yayoi Kusama called 'I Who Have Arrived in Heaven'. It is a dark room lined with mirrors and filled with LED lights that flicker and pulse. Only one or two people are let in at a time, to give the feeling you are floating in your own universe. The top photo is from the New York Times website, and the bottom 4 are found searching the hashtag #iwhohavearrivedinheaven.

FLORAL TYPE

Thursday, December 5, 2013
I seem to be collecting a lot of inspiration on my Pinterest board at the moment that combines type and flowers. Now I have identified this trend its time to do something with it... I see a self-initiated design project in my near future!

INSPIRED BY...

Tuesday, October 8, 2013
Feeling incredibly inspired by this amazing new lookbook created for one of my all-time favourite designers Anna Bond from Rifle Paper Co (check out her website if you haven't before - she makes the coolest stationery going around, not to mention has the best handwriting!). She has teamed up with the beautiful florist Amy Merrick and photographer Alpha Smoot to make this gorgeous bland of real and painted flowers to showcase Rifle's new stationery. You can buy a copy of the full lookbook for $50 - I am seriously tempted!
PS - an excellent interviews with Anna over here at the Everygirl. It's quite possible that Anna is living my dream job!

PINTEREST

Sunday, September 29, 2013

After a couple of months off, I have re-discovered my love for Pinterest. I find it so helpful to define my style as a designer, it is so easy for me to find some consistency and patterns in the things I pin a lot of - it is safe to say that hand written type and florals are trending big time on pinterest.com/penboadle/pins/

It is also great to make private boards when I am working with clients who are not quite sure what they want their wedding stationery to look like. They can pin the things that inspire them for their big day, I add a few things once I get a feel of their vibe and it makes it so easy for me to come up with creative invitations for them that are exactly what they want (but better!).

I can be found at pinterest.com/penboadle if you would like to see what I am loving at the moment!
